Raise your hand, who else gets inspired in the shower? I'm telling you, I've created business plans and personal goals for the next 5 years in those soapy 15 minutes a day.
The first shower of '09 resulted in the new themes you'll find on this blog. Before I share those with you, first let me say how grateful I am that you've stopped by. I truly look forward to connecting with you more this year, and hearing the stories of how your life is blooming.
The idea of themes was on my mind after reading Mari Smith's post. For those who haven't crossed paths with her yet, I recommend you do. While she's officially known as a Relationship Marketing Specialist, it's her qualities that stand out: Enthusiastic, supportive, knowledgeable, and inspirational. The more I reach out, the more I find the most amazing people and resources all around me. It's my intention to be that for you.
As I reflected on the catalysts for my own life blooming, I kept coming back to five main elements: Movement, food, wisdom, relationships, and fun. These are the cornerstones for my own health and well-being. And now, they are the inspired themes for this year.
Drumroll, please.
Movin' On Mondays
Want to shift your thoughts? Change your life? Start with the body. Simple adjustments in how you sit, stand, walk, and move through life have a tremendous impact on brain chemistry, "tight spots," ability to think clearly, and truly create the change you desire. Posts are on a variety of movement methods to help let your life bloom. From dance to Brain Gym to 5 Rhythms to yoga to Psych-K to Nia to holistic therapies and more.
Tasty Tuesdays
The focus here is on nourishment. How we eat is just as important as what we eat. It's time reawaken our connection to the food that fuels us. Plus I love food. Really, really love food. Seeds are put in soil, and in return, we get an abundance of nutrient rich, tasty goodness in many colors, flavors, shapes, and textures. That's phenomenal! The posts range from recipes to organic farming to healthy snacks to food service volunteering to nutrition in schools to CSA's and more.
Wisdom Wednesdays
We are all wise and intuitive, with an ability to access universal truths. When we do, it brings us out of the small, tight spin of "the problem" and into the spaciousness of solutions, where questions are as important as answers. Posts will explore the wisdom of leading thinkers, movers, and doers to earth & nature to yoga to native & tribal cultures to intuition & energy, and of course, who could forget, the wisdom of love.
Talk To Me Thursdays
Friendship, community, and supportive connections are keys to health and enjoyment. In times of strength, sadness, and celebration, having people to share it with makes all the difference. Posts are about inspired conversations I've had with people (from social networks like Twitter to the stranger at the grocery store) to Ask Coach Vanessa columns to guests on the Let Your Life Bloom Blog Talk radio show.
Fabulously Fun Fridays
What can I say? I love having fun, seeing the silver lining, and laughing. Time and again, I've learned how vitally important it is to health and healing to have a good time. These posts will be, er, fun and ideally, help you feel more joy in your life. You know that deep, good, relieving sigh that you have after a great time? That's what I want to share here. So says the princess.
Weekend Bonus
Whatever I want, whenever I want. Because it's my blog, and I can. ❀
** There you have it! Welcome 2009 and new energy into your life. To your health, joy, and fulfillment! **

Yay, Vanessa - this post totally *rocks*!! I'm delighted to see what you're creating for 2009 with your themed days. I thought about that myself and got as far as Monday Mastery, Freedom Fridays and Self-care Saturdays. It's a work in progress. LOL!
Cheers!
