Now that the season is officially over, I'm outing myself. Yes, I am a fan of American Idol. I've always loved talent shows whether on TV or not. Not so much for the competition, though that's sometimes exciting. It's more about the raw gift of song or dance or music playing. It's completely subjective, I know. That's part of the fun.
Really, I love seeing people shine and do what they love. And I love watching how others love them for that. Enter the "parade" show that happens every season. The top 3 contestants are showered with much affection from their hometown. This time around, it was the parade for Lee Dewyze that brought the joy and tears for me. You can feel the emotion all the way through.
I started imagining what it would be like to have a parade thrown for each one of us, just for being ourselves. We are amazing, you know. The parts you love about yourself and the parts you don't. It's all who you are and the unique contribution only you can offer the world. You don't have to have your purpose specifically defined, nor an action plan all laid out. It's the essence of who you are that matters. More people appreciate you than you even realize or could ever know.
Now imagine what it would be like if this parade was for you. Why not?! Imagine the energy of all that love radiating through you. Electric!
